Welcome to the Mobile Broadband Forum 2010, a unique conference that combines the LTE Forum and the RCS Forum in one conference full of Workshops, Panel Sessions and Keynote Presentations from leading analysts, international operators, regulators and leading representatives from the industry.

Both technologies, LTE and RCS, are complementary and analysts confirm that new service requirements — particularly those enabled by the RCS specifications — and new wireless architectures - especially LTE - are driving new, more urgent requirements to move to IMS-style software architectures in the core of the network.

Mobile broadband technology is the next generation evolution which changed the way how we communicated and it is for sure the biggest growth area in telecoms.
At the IDC 2010 Directions Conference in Santa Clara, IDC analysts predicted a 32% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for global mobile broadband connections, which were projected to reach over 350M by 2013
More significantly, LTE was predicted to have a CAGR of 471%, with 2012 (and later for some countries) as the critical inflection point for LTE mass adoption.
By 2013, IDC predicts:

  • Mobile broadband will be ubiquitous and the defacto way of communicating
  • Business models will be focused on revenues per subscriber or device
  • Global mobile services spending will surpass $975 billion
  • Iconic 4G devices will be critical to success
